SENIORS

  • Graduation Practice: Will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the LC Gym and is required in order to participate in the actual graduation ceremony.   Practice will take place at 9 am, starting with the senior class picture out at the football stadium (weather pending).  If weather is inclement, we will take the photo in the gym at 9 am before practice.
  • Commencement Ceremony: Will take place in Exhibition halls F & G at the Indiana Convention Center.  Please click here to view the map of the facility.  Each graduate will receive 10 tickets to the ceremony. Due to the size of the venue and total number of graduates, the school cannot provide any additional tickets beyond the 10 per student. Students and families are encouraged to reach out to one another if they are in need of additional tickets. Tickets will be available for pick-up with each individual cap and gown order on May 16th between 9am and 2pm in the Auditorium.   
  • High School Commencement: 1:00 PM Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Indiana Convention Center.

  • Graduation Parking Information: There are several options for parking downtown; however, Lawrence Township has made arrangements with Denison Parking (Lucas Oil Stadium). Parking in Lots A and B will be available for $5 on Sunday, June 2nd beginning at 10am. The entrance to Lots A and B is located on the corner of South and Missouri Streets. There are no in and out privileges.

Lawrence Central High School is a public school of approximately 2,800 students on the northeast side of Indianapolis, Indiana. It encompasses grades 9-12. In keeping with our tradition of excellence, Lawrence Central was one of the first high schools in the Secondary Schools Recognition Program to be nationally honored by the President and the Department of Education.

Lawrence Central High School welcomes parents and students who are considering enrolling in our school. In order to schedule a "shadow visit," please call the school and ask to speak with the Guidance and Counseling Department Chairperson who will make the appropriate arrangements as well as meet with the parent and student to address any questions.

Cutting Edge Education

Lawrence Central’s student body is richly diverse, and we are proud of the way students from a variety of backgrounds get along together. We believe that development of character and habits of mind that will enable our graduates to prosper and to establish strong and positive human relationships are outcomes worthy of emphasis.

Advanced placement courses, including Gifted/Talented and International Baccalaureate, ACP (Advance College Project through Indiana University) courses, mentorships, and specialized courses in the performing arts, as well as specific academic courses for the academically talented students are a part of the high school component.

Lawrence Township’s English as a Second Language, ESL, is designed to provide English language instruction and content area support to non-English speaking and limited English proficient students.

Lawrence Central students are also supported by the McKenzie Center for Innovation and Technology which provides training in a variety of business, medical and industrial fields.
