The Bears below have reached the highest level of athletic achievement playing or coaching their sports at the professional level. We are proud of these Bears and look forward to honoring the next Bear who reaches this same level of accomplishment.
Norm Sloan
NCAA National Basketball Champion Coach
Norm was an Indiana All Star at LC in 1944. He played college basketball at North Carolina State. He was head coach at The Citadel, The University of Florida, and North Carolina State where he led his team to the 1974 NCAA National Championship with a record of 30-1. He was the ACC Coach of the Year 3 times and the AP Coach of the year once. He also coached the 1980 British National Team.
Derrick Harris
1996 6th Rd Draft Pick St. Louis Rams
Derrick was an All-State running back at LC. He played four years in the NFL with the Rams and San Diego Chargers after playing at the University of Miami.
Derrick Ransom

Derrick had a 7 year NFL career as a defensive tackle with the Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ray Jackson

Ray was an All-State running back for the Bears. He played in college at Michigan and Cincinnati. He played one year in the NFL with the titans
Dana Ford Bordner
Member LPGA Tour
Dana was a 2X All-State selection as a golfer at LC and the 2004 Indiana University Female Athlete of the Year. She turned pro in 2005 and became a member of the LPGA Tour in 2011.
Craig Hormann
2008 Free Agent Signee Cleveland Browns
Craig was an IHSAA Mental Attitude Award winner on the 2004 state champion baseball team and All-State baseball player. He played college football at Columbia University and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Browns.
Tre Roberson
Calgary Stampeders
Tre was Indiana Mr. Football in 2010. He signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings after switching positions to cornerback and has played in the NFL for the Vikings and the Chicago Bears. He is currently a member of the Calgary Stampeders.
Kind Butler
USA Track and Field
Kind began running track as a senior at LC. He was a member of the 2014 World Indoor Champion 4x400M relay team who set a world record. He was an 8X All-American in college at Kentucky State and Indiana University.
Jarrett Casey

Jarrett was an All-State pitcher for the Bears. He was drafted out of Northern Kentucky University and played professional baseball for 7 years reaching AAA with 2 different organizations.
Christian Montgomery
2011 11th Rd Draft Pick New York Mets
Christian was an All-State pitcher for the Bears and was drafted out of high school. He had a 5 year career in the minor leagues.
Jared Ruxer
2014 12th Rd Draft Pick Los Angeles Angels
Jared was an All-State pitcher for the Bears and played college baseball at the University of Louisville. He had a career ERA of 3.94 in the minor leagues over 4 seasons reaching AA with the Kansas City Royals.
JJ Montgomery
2018 7th Rd Draft Pick Baltimore Orioles
JJ was an All-state pitcher and football player in high school. He was drafted out of the University of Central Florida and played for three different minor league teams in 2018 and 2019.
Gerrid Doaks
Houston Texans
Gerrid was drafted in the 7th rd of the 2021 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins. He is now a member of the Houston Texans. He was an all-state running back for the Bears and played collegiate football at the University of Cincinnati.
Cam McGrone
Indianapolis Colts
Cam was a 2021 5th rd draft pick of the New England Patriots after playing at the University of Michigan. He was a US Army All-American at LC and made his NFL debut in 2023 with the Indianapolis Colts after they acquired him in a trade with the Patriots.
Kyle Guy

While at LC, Kyle was Mr. Basketball and a McDonald's All-American. He was the 2019 Final Four Most Outstanding Player for the National Champion Virginia Cavaliers. In the NBA, he has played for the Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat. He is currently playing in Spain.
Jake Laravia
Memphis Grizzlies
While at LC Jake was an Indiana all-star and he played at Indiana State and Wake Forest in college. He was selected in the 1st rd of the 2022 NBA Draft by the Grizzlies
Branson Deen
Buffalo Bills
Branson was an All-State Football Player here at L.C. He played 4 years at Purdue before playing a 5th year for the Miami Hurricanes. Branson was an undrafted free agent signee of the Bills in 2024.
