Coach Masterson brings a wealth of experience to the program, having been involved in volleyball as a player, coach, and referee since he was 18 years old. Originally from St. Louis, he began playing at the University of Missouri before continuing his competitive career in Dallas and eventually settling in Indianapolis.

His coaching résumé includes head coaching experience at Westfield High School, and assistant coaching stops at  Sheridan High School, Lawrence North High School, and Guerin Catholic High School.
Beyond volleyball, Coach Masterson and his wife, Beth, have been married for 35 years. They have two grown daughters and three grandchildren.
