Coach Shelton is an LC graduate. While playing softball for the Bears, she set a single season  batting average record hitting .536 in 2016. She went on to play collegiate softball at the University of Evansville. She was previously an assistant coach at Park Tudor and here at Lawrence Central before taking over the Bears softball program in 2022. Coach Shelton is also a language arts teacher at Belzer Middle School.
